In today's world of ever-evolving technology, it's exciting to see the many ways we continue to evolve... and AI is just one of the many technologies that has continued to find a larger presence in our every day lives.
From the Roomba cleaning your living room to Google's self-driving cars, AI and machine learning is developing rapidly all around us... and yes, even in your social media feeds. ("The Social Dilemma," on Netflix anyone?)
At any rate, in our industry I'm excited to see AI taking on a larger role as well. Here's a great example: Sumitomo Electric's Q502S fusion splicer, which is powered by NanoTune™ AI technology, which greatly improves splicing efficiency and accuracy regardless of operational condition and user skill. How cool is that.
Another favorite feature: As a world first, the Q502S introduces a fiber type detection function – allowing the Q502S to distinguish between MMF and SMF fiber types and ensure use of the correct splice program.
