In one project, a SENTRY Console System, from their BS2 line of products, needed customizing. A facility was transitioning to digital transmission and wanted a new control center to manage broadcast operations from one central location. Worked around several challenges including rack mounting of equipment both above and below the work surface, and mounting directly to the work station.

Great Lakes engineers were more than willing to meet with their customers at this facility, to identify their needs and then to construct a console system to provide the rack mounting desired, networking and powering needed, and all with an ease of installation. The SENTRY's unique design in this example allowed a simple yet stylish look to meet the facilities needs for years to come. Great Lakes enabled a flexible design, for about the same cost and in the same time frame that an “off the shelf” solution would not have been able to provide.

In another custom project, Great Lakes had a request for internal rails and cable managers to be coated with a vinyl material. Great Lakes sought out qualified vendors with the capabilities to dip these large pieces of equipment, then make sure that the final product was evenly coated with the material. Their manufacturing teams had to resize holes, openings and fittings to ensure the tight, well finished product that they routinely deliver. After it was finished, Great Lakes then setup the shipping schedule to coordinate and make sure everything arrived according to the necessary deadlines.
