IT Spending, The Recession, and The Coming Recovery

Those of us involved in the enterprise network cabling industry to any extent, including manufacturers, distributors, integrators, installers, as well as IT professionals who design, manage and maintain communications networks have felt the effects of the worldwide recessionary economy in one way or another.

Gartner, Inc., a highly respected Stamford, CT based IT research and consulting firm, points out that the time frame when an economy transitions from recession to growth is an excellent time for IT professionals to plan their IT investments and take advantage of a recovering economy.

According to Gartner, it appears that while the recovery is likely to begin tentatively in late 2009 and 2010 due to the various government stimulus packages that have been put in place globally, real sustained growth will not likely begin until 2012 and into 2013. Their research indicates that end-user spending on IT products in the United States will grow by 2.8%. Gartner expects the public sector (government) to experience the greatest growth, approximately 3.8%.

While the down economy has adversely affected us all, it seems that the data center vertical market has not felt quite the same recessionary tendencies. Several cable manufacturers report that demand for the highest speed, highest bandwidth products available, such as 10Gig (Cat6A) copper and OM3 and OM4 optical fiber cables have increased.

Accu-Tech continues to partner with the leading manufacturers of structured cabling products who are on the cutting edge in the development of these high-end products. These partnerships, along with our commitment to large nationwide inventories of these high-end products, and our highly trained and knowledgeable sales and support staff make us uniquely qualified to provide the best products when and where they are needed, and at a competitive price when the economic recovery heats up.

Recessions are always followed by growth.....and remember that Accu-Tech is ready to respond to your particular needs whenever you begin to feel the heat!
