The Top 3 Gadget Gift Guides

by Brian Brown on December 10, 2009

accu-tech gift guideWith Christmas right around the corner, you may be struggling to find the perfect gift for the tech enthusiast in your life: this post is your solution. I have compiled a list of the best tech gift guides found on the web. You'll find only three lists included because these are the only lists you'll ever need. If you can't find a gift here, it's time to start thinking gift card.

While this post is a slight departure from our traditional industry coverage, I thougth this would be a fun way to get everyone in the holiday spirit (if they aren't already). Without further introduction, I present the best tech gift guides of 2009.

3. Gizmodo's Best Gadgets 2009 edition (here)

This is the grand daddy of all gadget lists. It's massive and includes sections detailing smartphones, audio, video, cameras, and even a section for 'random stuff'. What's the best HDTV under $1000, the best Blu-ray player on the market, or the best entry-level camera? Find them here.

This a great starting point.

2. Engadget's Holiday Gift Guide (here)

While Gizmodo complied one gigantic list, Engadget took another route by creating list after list of very specific holiday guides. Engadet's collection of lists may take a little more time to peruse but it can't be beat in terms of its detailed product reviews.

Best for those who already have an idea of what their looking for.

1. CNET's Holiday Tech Guide (here)

CNET couldn't have made your holiday shopping any easier. From Budget Tech Gifts to the Top Editors' Picks, no stone goes unturned. Can't decide between two seemingly identical netbooks? CNET will make your tough shopping decisions a little easier with short, yet detailed, video reviews. You even have the option of creating wish lists to send to your friends and family; finally put an end to those homemade sweaters from your aunt.

Those unfamiliar with CNET will some come to rely on these 2-3 minute video reviews for all gadget purchases.

Well, that's it. Short and sweet. These gadget guides are all you'll need to come through big this Christmas.

If you think I missed one, post the link in the comments below and I'll update the article. Happy shopping.
