HICKORY, N.C. Corning Cable Systems LLC, part of Corning Incorporated’s (NYSE:GLW) Telecommunications segment, will introduce on Feb. 7 newly designed closet connector housing (CCH) hardware that identifies with customers’ most impactful needs related to fiber optic housings. The new design is the result of thousands of hours of customer feedback and tens of thousands of product development hours.
The following features are enabled by the new CCH hardware design:
- Easier routing, resulting from the thoughtful design of the components and the quality of the materials used. The hardware is easier to see into, work within and get out of - all without disturbing connectivity.
- Before the new CCH hardware, cable strain relief was time-consuming and unwieldy. Multiple customer-driven strain relief options make this installation step faster and easier.
- Splicing inside the CCH hardware made possible by an innovative design to help ensure splices are properly installed and protected.
- More labeling options are offered in the new CCH hardware, including built-in components and templates to make labeling simple and customizable. Proper labeling in the housing is critical to network integrity.
The new CCH hardware will continue to be available and easy to order from Corning Cable Systems’ nationwide fiber optic distribution channels. Corning Cable Systems has worked closely with its distributors to manage the transition of inventory from the old design to the new. To be one of the first to see the new hardware, visit Corning Cable Systems’ booth #1101 at the 2012 BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition in Orlando.
