Press release from Tripp Lite below.
Tripp Lite, a world-leading manufacturer of power protection and connectivity solutions, has introduced a high performance cable series for Data Center applications. The N280-Series cables are Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP+) direct attach cables designed for short reach connections of up to 7 m (23 ft.), a length commonly found in data center environments. These cables carry signals at speeds up to 10 Gbps between servers, switches and other equipment.
Copper construction and all-in-one design make the N280-Series a lower-cost and lower-power alternative to standard fiber installations. With the reduced power consumption of the cables, users can lower electricity and overall cooling costs.
The N280-Series cables are SFF-8431 compliant, making them compatible with the many devices that meet this widely-used specification. These cables are perfect for a wide range of applications like high-density network connections, high capacity storage and ultra-high bandwidth switches and routers.
Key Features and Benefits:
- Low cost, low power alternative to Fiber Optic
- All-in-one design saves installation time
- Supports data transfer speeds up to 10 Gbps
- Fully compliant to MSA SFF-8431 specification for compatibility with more devices
- Jacket colors available in black and green
“Our new N280-Series cables are a great choice for new installations or replacement of existing fiber optic connections,” said David Posner, Tripp Lite Product Manager. “The low cost, power-saving design will provide users immediate cost savings in projects of any size.”
