Digitus db ServerRack Access Control: Increased Compatibility

The highly reviewed db ServerRack Access Control products from Digitus Biometrics are now compatible with virtually all legacy access control platforms. After nine months in development, Digitus Biometrics is proud to announce new software and firmware additions that make the db ServerRack Access Control products compatible with access control technologies including Kantech, Schneider Electric, Assa Abloy, Tyco Security, Blue Wave, Bosch, Siemens, and more. 

Digitus customers can now install Digitus patent pending technology to secure server cabinets in the data center and protect their investment in legacy card access control technology. Because the Digitus technology is fully compatible, you can use existing card access control software to:

• Monitor cabinets in the data center in real time
• Alert in real time when an event occurs
• Receive information for triggering events, like turning on a camera

The new capability allows customers to monitor access points through a single pane of glass, eliminating the need for multiple monitoring stations. This is achieved by allowing the customer to select exactly what information they wish to pass from DAS-SQL to the 3rd-party software, using SNMP. It’s completely customizable, allowing just the desired information to be selected. The customer will still need Digitus software to facilitate things like user enrollment and permissions. 

The biometric access control products at the cabinet level cost no more than a card based solution. Overall, the family of db ServerRack access control products are more secure and less expensive than the alternatives. Using Digitus technology, customers can install the most secure access control platform on cabinets in the data center while protecting their investment in their installed access control platform.

Digitus Biometrics has also recently released multiple locking options for its db ServerRack Access Control product line. Digitus has worked to resolve customer concerns, resulting in the integration of the EMKA electromechanical swinghandle and the Rittal Comfort Handle into the Digitus access control platform. These two new locking options join the Southco H3-EM swinghandle asoptions for existing as well as new cabinets. These products include all db Bus configurations as well as the db Zero-U product.

With these new locking options, Digitus technology can be installed on any existing server cabinets, regardless of the manufacturer. Such manufacturers include APC, Rittal, Chatsworth, HP, Dell, IBM, Emerson, EMC, VCE, Panduit and LeGrand to name a few.
