Design Smarter Smart Buildings and Data Centers

by Teddi Strassburger on June 9, 2021

Smart buildings can enable so many technologies to work together to deliver the automated, integrated solution you and all who use your building require. Of course, to enable all of those technologies, your building will need to rely upon your infrastructure to power and connect every solution. That infrastructure lies in your data center. So, how do you ensure your data center can support the goals you have for your smart building's capabilities?

"Digital building devices are going to add three to four times as many devices to your network - be prepared," says Todd Frederes at Cisco. It's essential to begin preparing now for this influx of devices and the demands they'll place onto your network. There are several places within your data center that you can begin looking at and evaluating. Upgrading your data center can be an ongoing process that you don't have to complete now; it's great to begin looking at opportunities for improvement now and determining what you can accomplish in the near future and what you can add to your to-do list for the future.

How will you get started? Educating yourself on the available data center infrastructure solutions and how they support smart buildings is a great place to begin. We're hosting a webinar with Legrand on June 17th at 2PM EST to talk all about smart buildings and data center infrastructure considerations. RSVP and save your seat here!
