Belden has recently announced their new Small-Diameter 10GXW cable, the market's smallest-diameter Category 6A cable. It's designed to support multi-gigabit, smart building applications, such as in-building wireless (IBW). It was created to answer concerns about the availability of a reliable Cat 6A cable that could also help installers maximize labor and resource productivity. Its small size - the diameter is only 0.250 inches - makes it extremely easy to handle, install and route through plenum spaces. Belden's goal is to create reliable, versatile solutions that are also quick and easy to deploy - the 10GXW cable definitely fits in with their mission.
New technologies and applications are truly driving the demand for Cat 6A cabling. These include: next-generation wireless, in-building cellular networks, increased data sharing and transferring, 100W PoE and AV over IP signal transmission.
How does it work? Belden's 10GXW cables use EquiBlock™ technology to achieve uniform heat flow dissipation, which eliminates hotspots in cable bundles. It also features cable balance that translates to superior noise immunity performance, which is essential for wireless networks.
Installers can combine 10GXW with the REVConnect® Connectivity System to create an easy-to-deploy end-to-end cabling infrastructure system. Using a REVConnect Plug or FlexPlug can reduce labor and hardware costs by taking advantage of MPTL configuration to directly connect any endpoint device to the network without a jack, biscuit box or patch cord.
