We are excited to share that Leviton's Network Solutions Business Unit is now carbon neutral! Leviton Network Solutions is the first of four Leviton Business Units to accomplish the goal; the others aren't far behind.
About five years ago, Leviton partnered with global sustainability consultancy Sphera to create a three-step process focused on measuring, reducing, and offsetting their carbon footprint. Together, they identified key areas of potential improvement and jumped into action, reducing carbon emissions by 55%, transitioning to clean energy providers and on-site solar power, and investing in clean energy-focused carbon offset projects offered through reputable companies. By taking these steps, Leviton Network Solutions has achieved carbon neutrality a year earlier than originally planned!
As we shared in a previous blog post, Leviton's CN2030 Sustainability Program focuses on achieving company-wide carbon neutrality by 2030 alongside other efforts, like recycling and water usage, to reduce their impact on the environment. By 2050, they aim to achieve Net Zero. Leviton Network Solutions reaching the goal of carbon neutrality marks a huge step forward in their commitment to making a difference and fighting climate change.
Leviton is committed to reducing their own impact on the environment - while helping customers and partners do the same. "This is something we all need to be concerned with and collectively need to act and expedite reducing carbon emissions," said Daryoush Larizadeh, Leviton's President and CEO. By working together, our industry can help protect and preserve our environment.
