TIA-1179-A is a recent healthcare facility telecommunications infrastructure standard generated by the Telecommunications Industry Association. This revision of the standard is intended to identify the most appropriate copper and fiber optic cable types for a healthcare facility. With ever increasing network demands, it is logical to choose products that will not only meet the current needs of the healthcare facility, but will meet those needs into the foreseeable future. Additionally, some cable types are better suited for healthcare environments where ambient electronic noise, both consistent and intermittent, is likely.
Hitachi’s Category 6A Supra 10G-XE and 6A FUTP are ideally suited for use in healthcare environments. And, with a growing number of PoE devices entering the market and the demands of higher throughput wireless networks, Category 6A makes more sense now than ever before.
