Remote Ethernet devices can have a difficult time connecting due to the distance limitations. Many industrial plants require cable to perform under wet or outside environments and desire not having to have 2 installation efforts: one to install the cable and one to install the conduit. Each cable consists of two copper wires (red/black) that provide power from a centralized power supply to POL ONTs with the option of one single-mode fiber required for POL use, or two single-mode fibers that allow redundant paths.
