Neptuno Networks Data Center is the largest wireless broadband provider in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean that offers Layer 2 and Layer 3 multiprotocol label switching, virtual private network services, internet services, voice over internet protocol (VoiP) services, network consulting, integration services and managed services to small, medium and major enterprise customers that require an infrastructure capable of supporting their mission-critical business around Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
As the largest and fastest growing internet service provider in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Neptuno's data center had reached full capacity. In order for Neptuno to realize its full potential and offer their customers the most reliable service, it was necessary to have complete control of their own data center and equipment. The largest concern was staying within budget while still achieving energy efficiency. Because Neptuno purchased an already existing building, they wanted to make as few infrastructure changes as possible.
Based on this requirement, Great Lakes was able to customize its standard product to deploy a cooling solution that would work within the data center. Staying within budget and complying with the mandate to maximize energy efficiency were the driving forces behind the design.
