As the buildings in which we live, work and play continue to become smarter and more efficient than ever, the demand for long-lasting, high-quality Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) cabling will only increase. PowerWise™ by Superior Essex is designed with the goal of pushing the limit of what is possible to accomplish with PoE technology. Whether the goal is safety, customization or efficiency, PowerWise™ cable is an ideal conduit for high levels of power and data for the most rigorous PoE applications. The three categories of PowerWise™ cable currently available are as follows:
- PowerWise™ 1 Gigabit 4-pair Power-over-Ethernet (4PPoE): PowerWise 1G 4PPoE cables are the best solution in terms of both performance and overall value to connect and power 4PPoE applications compared to standard CAT 5e and 6 designs. Specifically designed for efficiency and to mitigate heat build-up, they are ideal for applications that require up to 100W or power and up to 1 Gigabit Ethernet performance.
- PowerWise™ Fiber: Created to surpass existing PoE cable in both distance and power capacity, PowerWise™ Fiber consists of two 2mm bend-resistant G.657.B3 single mode fiber simplex interconnect cables and two stranded 16 AWG copper conductors, allowing direct and secure connection to LC or SC type mechanical connectors. The cable is manufactured with strength yarns that allow the cable to meet the distribution cable requirements of ANSI/ICEA S83596.
- PowerWise™ Indoor/Outdoor CMR/CMX 1G 4PPoE: As durable as they are powerful, PowerWise™ Indoor/Outdoor CMR/CMX 1G 4PPoE cables are designed specifically for performance in harsh outdoor conditions. With jacketing manufactured with UV-blocking compounds that prevent sunlight from damaging the components, these cables stand up to long-term outdoor exposure, making them ideal for applications such as Ethernet interconnect cables for WiFi or retrofit cable installations that employ exterior runs.
Superior Essex PowerWise™ cable offers a product that continues to move the industry forward when it comes to the size and scope of PoE installations.
